Met Dino Vomit outside his office building yesterday. It was a post war building with architectural designs from the SIT era. With his tight tee and thick bob of hair, Dino looked so right working there.
The guitar signature of The Stones' Paint It Black always never fail to startled me. When the Vomits played it, i remember a shudder going down down my spine. that was from years ago. this bootleg was from their Lava Lounge gig, 9th Dec '98. Listening to it again, the shudder remains the same.

pat will be doing a solo gig this sunday (3rd nov) in KL. Its for Joe Kidd's series of Unclogged gigs. At the No Black Tie starting 830pm. Door is RM10. Other acts are The Worst Of Me (an all acoustic band from Kuala Terengganu), Meor (a Malay solo acoustic singer songwriter), and Couple (an Ipoh-based power-pop band).
jeanne gave me Beck's new CD. its on repeat especially the very Drake-like Round The Bend. would sit very nicely with a view from the window seat. 100% undoctored.

from the pile of tapes i was bootleging at gigs years ago, i found this g e m performance. this is off my little walkman recorder. the quality is less than optimum. overloading, hiss, cackles, the works. u can even hear someone yelling out his order for a beer. Alvin Vomit at one point was worried that the band wouldn't be heard over the din made by the martini drinking yuppies at the back of the bar. But the Vomits persevered. i can't remember how the crowd was but im glad i captured the magical frenzy that was the original Vomit siblings at the Lava Lounge (9th Dec 1998).

jon the man, brought me for a darn yummy grilled chicken + fried rice lunch this afternoon at Coronation. next stop was salvation army thrift shop in bt timah. saw leong, the ex guitarist of zircon lounge, and headman of Earth Medicine (87-88) working there now. we shared his last 2 sticks and talk about the passion. tonite i met nikki and karen and yak the nite away. yes..... im not even half there. was repeating fade into u. always has a relevance at every moment anytime anywhere. especially during the tender ones. especially awake during vulnerable times.

some time ago, pat played oddies' Home for me. it became an instant repeat1. a few weeks ago i saw ginette's MG Projekt October cover on her site. i got very drawn to it. two weekends ago i hung out with an old pal from Carburetor Dung. we drank every night and talk about the passion.
some weeks from now the rainy season will come again. im glad there r many things to look fwd to. alaska ... alaska.

the oddies are currently recording and mixing down new stuff. every week for the next five weeks they will preview 1 new song on their website. here's the first titled Out Of My Head. and this was the original lineup from '88.

last night played this current repeat1 song in the car with noel. thereabouts he said if there's a pitch to every individual, mine would be melancholic. i'm sure u mite have heard this somewhere but hear it again. its darn melancholic.

finally the couple made it here on fri. hung out wif naz, pat and jeanne. been drinking everynite since thursday. tonite will be different. no more alcohol! i swear!

adore this current repeat1 song. being slightly older now, i love it even more as the words carry a piognancy which i didn't have a grasp on when i first heard it in primary school.
