the feeling was terrible after that 0-4 drubbing. we walked out when the 4th goal went in. keith and i r gonna give it 1 more shot. we had to go tonite. i expect to see more thais than locals. hope it rains heavy.

been bz last week hence tired, lazy, etc to update. after the new year im gonna post more boots. need time to digitalize all those cassette recordings.
mimi posted some of her excellent animated gifs. donald been refining his intriguing line-art. Pat been having lunches with Styra. the Vomits will be playing No Black Tie in KL on the .... i think... 29th Dec... go to their website for updates. will be a riot. I'm off to Bali this week. will be serene.

last weekend had a small hangout (i hate the word 'party' cos it brings to mind yuppies, expats flirting with SPGs and advertising types hanging around). i like mine relax, informal without expensive wine tinkling yuppies and SPGs. i also had the privillege of the best rock band ever to grace my kitchen. ladies and gents... The Hines.

the problem now is they cant decide who plays what. tell me who should play which instrument and why.
note: those r plastic cups with red wine and a bottle of tsingtao

some time back my friend shutdown her site citing work-bz-no-time-etc to update and recently even more work piling up. "joe, see how long yours can last!". i know what she mean now. last few weeks has been work busier, new project etc. but another friend has been amazing. he has his Oddfellows, his side band with Chang Kang named Typewriter, on top of that a hectic editorial job. now he even got his own blogspot. he also has two feisty and very lovely cats.

this is not Pat's. its Joe Kidd and I-Lan's attacking Pat's bag strap.

I've been to the Carriage Bar (at York Hotel) a couple of times and enjoyed The Thunderbirds' repertoire of oldies. When Singapore 60s Vol 1 was issued, I couldn't connect with then and now. The years have stripped off that feisty zest, which is heard on those recordings made 30 years ago. The energy is different. It is shaped by a dignified mode now and affected by the need to play showbiz. These days there's not a lot of twist in their rock, but on nights when they are on a roll, veterans have a way with leaving you dumbstruck with a finesse honed through years of paying dues.
Released in 1967, the single My Hula Girl features the B side track titled You Were Made For Me To Love, a somewhat kitchsy song so earnestly performed by singer Harvey Fitzgerald that I can't help but adore it.

hi mimi, which one of these cool cats is your frontman's dad? can i get his autograph?
