Noel got married last year. Stella and him make a good couple. Now they have their own place which is a minute's walk from Jeanne's.

Noel used to front Suchness whose Spellweaver featured on a BigO Singles Club CD compilation. It was a damn fine song. Noel left the band in '98 when he went to the US for studies. A few months b4 he left, they played a gig where this song titled Taxi Taxi got stuck in my head due to its rather spasmodically excited singing. When i told Noel i still remember that gig bcos of Taxi Taxi, he would just grin it away.

Despite going down 2-1 to Denmark Olympic Team, Singapore Under 23 played admirably last night. There were good movements, ideas and most of all... spirit to play and battle. This won't however sate ny hunger for some real football of my own. Sunday's nonstop rain cancelled out the game we were supposed to have at 5pm. I was so looking fwd to it.

These r my regular tsingtao drinking buddies, paul n don. Don will be leaving next month to study in lovely melbourne. We all wish him well. He's also the fella who's into line-art. Hope he does more.

There are a few bands that i always admire and one of them is Stoned Revivals. Goodil must be their most well known song. This was bootlegged at Sparks in .... i think 1998. I can't remember the date. Nevermind, just dl n enjoy.

i overcame the nuahness and drag myself out to Oosh on tuesday nite and was rewarded by a darn good batch of new songs by Livonia. Its down to a 3 piece with Daniel handling vox well. Full bodied and more in your face. While Astreal has developed a really tight dynamic sexy wall of sound.

Oosh would be having regular gigs there every week.

b4 F4, there were the Pagans with beautiful looks and better attitude. they play "shoe gazing" rock. i call it simply good honest rock. when they debut at the Substation more than 10 years ago, they blew everyone away with their gut tearing performances. the middle phase of the Pagans career had them immortalizing James' Sit Down as part of their encore and something which everyone then remembered them for. Blank Chord is my fave song off their Hideaway EP produced by Pat Chng and released under his Tim label in 1992.

i bought this VU tee (140baht= abt S$6) from Chatchuchak Market in Bangkok. it seems to be very popular with singaporeans cos jeanne tells me she has seen a couple of these walking around. chris ho's spiritual home is Thailand. he covered this lovely thai tune Lonely When Away From My Love with zircon lounge 20 years ago. it is off the compilation titled Class Acts.

i went to Canto Disco once with a mishmash bunch of close army pals etc and we were dancing goofy and had a ball of a time there.we were drunk, dancing, singing and we were smoking. the music sux but i didnt care a hoot cos the company was right. years ago i been to bali b4 and dislike it. last week i spend an incredible 1 week with jeanne there and loved every moment. its the company that matters....

im big on Dewa. Sheila On 7 comes a close second. never imagine they would be playing in Bali. halfway thru the set i wish i understand bahasa but i manage to sing along to the chorus of Sephia (right click & download) quite "superbly" along with the packed house.

jeanne and i agree that vocalist Duta Modjo has the same kind of charm Dino Vomit has. in between songs, the guitarist was mucking around with the riff of Paranoid Android. i ran up front and holler to them to play it. "We'll play it if u come up and sing" says Duta. darn..... i wish i know my radiohead.
